Surfer's paradise #2

Last batch of photos from Surfer's Paradise.

Today is the first day of December. I can't believe it's already the last month of 2011! Where did this year go?

The small things - photos taken with Fujifilm Natura Classica

Walking home from the station;
Bed time;
Home-made bibimbap.

It's the end of Spring semester 2011!
A week later summer school starts though but can't wait to finish the last two subjects left in my degree within two months!

Not long to go

Hang in there!

The beach - Gold Coast, Queensland

A mini-trip to the Gold Coast in between work and uni exams. It was nice to get away from Sydney for a while.

Surfer's paradise, Queensland - Nikon FM2 SLR film camera

The first photograph is actually a double exposure of the sea and the sand that I took with my Nikon FM2. It looks like it's on sepia mode doesn't it? 'Tis all on film which makes it all the more romantic

Sweet tooth

It's official. Fujifilm Natura Classica is my favourite camera of all time! One camera I know I will always carry around wherever I go. I'm so happy I purchased it after contemplating on the fairly high price, however, the price is actually worth it!
It's a compact film camera with lots of charm.

All photo taken with the Natura Classica are indicated on the tags.

The Sartorialist in Tokyo

"Some cities are women's cities where the women always look really good. Like New York is a women's city, Paris is a women's city - Tokyo is a men's city. I think the guys look much better here." - The Sartorialist

I always thought the men's fashion in Tokyo was very unique, interesting and fashion-forward. But the women's fashion there, in general, is more the "kawaii" style with lots of cute patterns, frilly skirts, lace etc. Not exactly my thing which is why I mostly shopped at Zara or H&M whilst living there. Let's not forget about hair and makeup in Japan which is another whole separate topic.

I definitely preferred the men's fashion there, in the sense that if I were a guy I would've wanted to learn a thing or two from the Tokyo fashion scene - just the fashion.

Live your life - photo: Fujifilm Natura Classica

A random quote that I read in a magazine whilst waiting for the train:
"I don't want to settle for something that isn't what I want just to conform to other people's life scripts"
So true, don't you think?
If you take a good look, our lives are controlled by the judgement and opinions of those around you and then later on you wonder why you aren't happy with your life. It's quite a sad but a prevalent reality for the majority.

It's a green world - Fujifilm Natura Classica

I regret not blogging as often during my one year in Japan but at least there is some remnants of my fourth year as a university exchange student at YNU here (all posts labelled 'Japan' on this blog)
