We finally visited Eveleigh Farmers' Market located in Redfern, Sydney, that's held every Saturday morning from 8am. Given our new found love for Farmer's Markets after our Tasmania trip, our expedition to Eveleigh Markets was a long time coming (okay, maybe it was my laziness and inability to wake up early on Saturday mornings).
I'm definitely going back to try all the other food stalls including Billy Kwong's savoury panckes, buy some fresh vegies and some interesting spreads. My ultimate favourite at the markets was Yalla's Chocolate Mousse. Oh, it was it devine! It wasn't too sweet (I don't have much of a sweet tooth) and the texture/consistency was perfect. I'll have to buy the bigger tub next time round!

I thought previous rolls of film on my Yashica 35-me were overexposed due to light leaks. It turns out that the battery wasn't working and the exposure meter was incorrect. I bought new batteries  (Kodak KS76) but it doesn't seem to work :(

Is it me or do weekdays fly by really fast? I go to work on Monday and by the time you know it, it's Friday already. Not that I'm complaining. Though I do feel the urgency to be more productive on weekdays after work. Not enough hours in a day!

Birthdays, thoughts, life

Warm and peaceful.

[edit]

I turned a year older yesterday.
You know, as each year goes by, I definitely feel more comfortable (especially compared by my 19 year-old self) in my own skin, self-confident, self-aware and bold. Bold in the sense that I'm more defiant on following the norm and instead able to follow my own instinct and intuition. In times of uncertainty I can control my apprehensive thoughts and emotions by simply telling myself that everything happens for a reason, whether it be good or bad, there is a lesson and opportunity to grow and learn. I only came to realise this as it has happened so so many times and, really, you just gotta do the most you can do and then think "this too, shall pass".

I spent all day reading 'Steve Jobs' by Walter Isaacson today. I watched the movie 'Jobs' which made me curious and wanting to know more about this impetuous visionary and the tumultuous yet incredible life he had led. Very interesting so far! I also watched a BBC documentary on Vivian Maier and, gosh, I wish she was still alive and be able to ask her all the questions that I have about her. She's so mysterious and intriguing. Reading the Jobs biography and the Maier doco really got me thinking on natural talent and how it would feel to do something you love and good at doing. How do you find the answer to both - what do you love doing and know you are good at? I wonder if it's possible.

First day of Spring 2013

The weekends are always too short.

It's officially the  first day of Spring! How time flies. Next thing you know it's going to be Christmas and then 2014.
Wow, the year after that will be 2015. It sound so futuristic yet there's only 2 years to go. I feel old.
