Camping at Coolendel

The highlight of my 2013 xmas/ny break was definitely camping at  Coolendel. I've been to many camps as a kid but always in cabins. This time, instead of sleeping in cabins, we had to assemble our own tent, cook meat that was packed in our esky on a portable stove and... watch others enjoy their campfires (one thing we forgot were chairs, plus it was too cumbersome to start a fire just for two people). Maybe next time when we go with a group.

I've always wanted to do this and it was so much fun! The drive to the camp site was treacherous (my poor little Mazda 2) though the beautiful scenery and lake where we swam and went canoeing in made up for it, as well as seeing a wild wombat and wallaby.

This is not our tent. Our humble little tent did not compare to the pro set-ups the other campers had.
Maybe one day!

  1. I love camping! is a feeling that I can't describe. and I describe a lot in my life, but this thing... is heaven. is pure happiness without superficial stuff or something that we don't really need.
these shots are insanely good! I like all the colors. they're so striking.
although, my chosen ones are the view for lake and the beautiful peacock running wild :-)
    beautiful, Hanna.

    1. oh wow! you must have so many fond childhood memories from camping~ and you must be a pro! haha it was really nice seeing so many families with young kids at the camp site. i thought how their camping trip will become fond memories later on when they become adults - i guess that's what your parents thought too. lucky you sara :) i'd love to go camping when i have my own family.

  5. When it comes to deciding the size, if you are not going backpacking in the wilderness where the weight of the tent is a major consideration, always go for a tent that will take more people than the quoted size. camping tents online in India
