Bologna film photo diary

Bologna, Italy
Film Photo Diary

14-15 March 2016

Compared to Venice and Florence, Bologna felt more authentic without the hoards of tourists.
A beautiful city famous for its Tortellini and medieval architecture that's only 30 mins away from Florence by train.

Warning: long post!

Copying the locals and having a morning espresso standing at the bar.

Porticoes of Bologna, built since 1100, the late Middle Ages!

At a park in Bologna, taking sneaky photos of an old Italian man...as you do...ahem.

Florence - Art & Architecture

Some more snaps from this famous city.

There were so many tourists and selfie-sticks.

Attempting a self-timer photo. Struggles of travelling alone :)

Have you seen the Japanese movie called 'Resei to jonetsu no aida' (냉정과 열정 사이)? It was filmed in Florence and this is the exact backdrop in one of the scenes that I happened to come across!

He caught my eye. Very stylish.

Checking into Florence

Florence Firenze Italy
Florence Firenze Italy hotel

After a 3 hour train ride from Venice to Florence, I checked into my hotel that was along the river.
Checked in and got ready to explore the birthplace of the Renaissance.

I changed film for these two photos below.
I think I prefer it.

On the train to Florence

On the train to Florence

After saying bye to S who went back to London, I went solo to my next destination by train: Florence.

Venice film photo diary

Long overdue photos from my Italy trip in March.

Venice 12-13 March with S.
Florence 13-14 March solo trip.
Bologna 14-15 March solo trip.

Copying the Italians - an espresso in the morning.

Beautiful canals and bridges

THE best gelato I ever had in my life.

The first day in Venice was nothing short of beauty at every turn. However, as you walk through the city you notice that there are only tourists and, at one point, I felt as though I was on the set of a movie or an amusement park, only at sporadic moments though.
On another note, gelato in Venice...I never understood when people would rave on about 'the best gelato' thinking to myself how different could it be? In Rome, I didn't find it all that spectacular. Luckily we stumbled across a store voted 'the best gelato in Venice'. We went back the very next day because we couldn't stop thinking about!
