January 2014 is coming to an end soon. Only two more months left in Sydney. Yikes!

All in a day's work

Here are some daily views I see on my way to and at work:

Taking photos during my lunch break - instagram dedication, no? ;)

These days I find that from the time I arrive home to bedtime (that's usually 7pm to midnight) these hours are so, so precious. I feel the need to make the most out of them. Such is the life of a 9to5er.
Oh well, at least it's a long-weekend this week! Yay for Australia Day!

Camping at Coolendel

The highlight of my 2013 xmas/ny break was definitely camping at  Coolendel. I've been to many camps as a kid but always in cabins. This time, instead of sleeping in cabins, we had to assemble our own tent, cook meat that was packed in our esky on a portable stove and... watch others enjoy their campfires (one thing we forgot were chairs, plus it was too cumbersome to start a fire just for two people). Maybe next time when we go with a group.

I've always wanted to do this and it was so much fun! The drive to the camp site was treacherous (my poor little Mazda 2) though the beautiful scenery and lake where we swam and went canoeing in made up for it, as well as seeing a wild wombat and wallaby.

This is not our tent. Our humble little tent did not compare to the pro set-ups the other campers had.
Maybe one day!

I have a million things to do but all I want to do is blog, look at photos, read my book, youtube, watch tv shows and eat. Tonight I will write a to-do list and use my time more wisely for the next few months.

A weekend at the Blue Mountains where we stayed at the Japanese Bathhouse and spoilt again at the Echoes Restaurant for dinner with stunning views. A very thoughtful Christmas gift :)
In front of our accommodation was a pond with cows and a tractor around it. The cows were moo-ing so loud we heard them while we were getting our massages. It was a fun and relaxing weekend.

So, as you may have noticed, you've been redirected to my new domain site and I PROMISE it will not change from this day forth. 'Haru' means 'day' in Korean and it simply encompasses what this blog is - a blog about my daily life where I share my photos and thoughts. As mentioned in the previous post, I have a few endeavours planned for this year and here I will share my stories with you lovely bloggers/readers. Welcome to My Haru!

Road trip 1 - The Entrance

I've been on a quite a few road trips the past month all over NSW - west to Blue Mountains, south to Shoalhaven and north to The Entrance. I had to forego any overseas trips in order to save up money but I had just as much fun! I suppose it doesn't matter where you go, as long as you go somewhere unfamiliar with good company.
Naturally, I took my camera everywhere on these road trips and I've developed two rolls of film so far. These are some photos at The Entrance where I spent New Years with my closest friends.
My younger brother took my Holga on his trip to India and his photos inspired me to use it again. Last time I posted photos taken with my Holga was in 2009! It was nice to use the camera that sparked my love for film.

New years break 2014

Happy New Year!

I've had a great year-end break so far! Let's see what I've been up to from December 2013:

- Went to the Blue Mountains Hot Springs on 14 Dec as my Christmas present from the wonderful bf :)
- Barbecues and dinner on Christmas day.
- Boxing day shopping craziness at Pitt St Mall, never again!
- Icecream at Bar Italia, Leichardt.
- Bike riding at Bicentennial Park which was a lot of fun and a great work out.
- Bargain shopping at DFO, Homebush.
- Korean bbq at 678 Korean restaurant for my little brother's 21st!
- Brunch at Reubens and Bill's.
- Fireworks at the Entrance with friends on NYE

And to start off 2014, I'm off to go camping at Coolendel tomorrow! Bushwalking, canoeing, tents, campfires and all! I have a few rolls of film to develop already, can't wait to share all the photos.

Hope everyone has had a great start to 2014!
